CERN in the media from 19/12/2022 to 01/01/2023

Published on January 9, 2023

Dear all,

Please find below the media monitoring report from 19 December, 2022 to 1 January, 2023. These press cuttings have been selected amongst 865 articles identified by our media monitoring system.

The ISPI Award 2022 has been granted to Fabiola and ESA astronaut Samantha Christoforetti. Lamborghini republished on their website an interview they did with Fabiola in 2021 about the importance of innovations and sharing the engineering knowledge across multiple fields.

The last LHCb results announced on 20th December were widely covered including in Nature (see article attached). The ALICE media update about antihelium nuclei still gets coverage.

In an interview organised by the Press Office in December, Serge Claudet spoke to Science et Vie about the LHC earlier shutdown responding to energy crisis.

CERN’s discoveries ended up mentioned in lists of best science, innovation and health stories of 2022, highlighting the LHC Run3, focusing on ALICE and LHCb discoveries, as well as Higgs10 Anniversary. Other mentions include the new Data Centre in Prévessin.

We wish you all the best in 2023!

Kind regards,

The Press Team
