Women In Technology - Friday Links - 27/01/2023

Published on January 27, 2023

Hello everybody,

Here is our selection of Friday links.

Events and initiatives around the International Day of Women and Girls in Science on 11th February

This year’s theme for the International Day of Women and Girls in Science on 11th February is:

Innovate. Demonstrate. Elevate. Advance. Sustain

IDEAS: Bringing everyone forward

Our WIT social media team are planning to launch a campaign similar to what we did last year. Have a look at our Instagram campaign from February last year using this link to see how many amazing women in science we put a spotlight on.
For this year’s campaign, we want to again highlight the inspirational women in our community. Therefore, we would like to ask for your help!
If you would like to get involved with our campaign on Instagram and LinkedIn, we would love for you to send us 2 or 3 photos that portray what you like/enjoy about your job - bonus points for linking it to this years theme of sustainability 😉 - alongside a sentence that represents a piece of advice that you would give to your younger self. If you are on Instagram and/or LinkedIn and would like to be tagged in the post we create, please also send your account handles so that we can tag you.
If you are interested in learning more about the #February11 initiative itself and some of the work going on, check out the following websites:

Workshop, Conferences and Events

You are still on time to connect to at https://indico.cern.ch/event/1240247/ for the WITalk with Fermilab’s Lorena Lobato, which takes place today at 16:00.

If you live around Hamburg or happen to be there, there is an exhibition on sexualised violence and false victim blaming that is opening next week.

Past events and presentations

The WIT community workshop of last Friday gave us many ideas of how to improve our website https://wit-hub.web.cern.ch .

Thanks a lot for ones that participated. It was a great experience and we very much enjoyed it!

We are planning to put the ideas into proactive and update the website in the next weeks.
