Dear WIT Friends,

World Cancer Day 4th of February:

 

Tomorrow is an important date to remind us that there are so many amazing and strong people around us who are recovering from cancer treatment.

They are here to remind us that we need to love and care of ourselves and avoid living for the past or the future but for the present.

That we should be grateful for what we have for granted, while others do not.

We try to do our best to support them, but there are people who have dedicated their lives to improving or even changing cancer care.

Here are some wonderful women in STEM who changed the face of Medicine by contributing to cancer research:

  • The Powerlifting Club is excited to announce a new women’s training session on Saturdays from 10-12, starting February 11th. All are welcome! Whether you are a seasoned powerlifter or have never lifted weights before and are interested in starting, please join us for a supportive and encouraging workout environment with other women. The sessions will be informal and unstructured, and are free to all club members. To guarantee a slot, participants should register in advance on the following Indico page: https://indico.cern.ch/event/1249088/.
    Note that if you are a male member of the club, you are still welcome to come work out during the session as long as there are slots available in our booking system.
