CERN in the media from 08/05/2023 to 14/05/2023

Published on May 17, 2023

Dear all,

Please find below the media monitoring report from 08 to 14 May 2023. These press cuttings have been selected amongst 1,560 articles identified by our media monitoring system.

The news of 30 years since the release of the World Wide Web software to the public still triggers attention, especially since Tim Berners-Lee participated in the V Encuentro Internacional de Rectores, in Valencia, last week. The thirtieth anniversary of the first Italian server was also widely covered last week.

Articles related to the FCC press briefing organised by the Press Office on 19 April are still being published. Most of them are based on the AFP wire. The FCC was also mentioned in the attached issue of Haute-Savoie Magazine (page 22).

The Press Office organized the interview of LHCb Postdoctoral Research Associate Gediminas Sarpis by Innovation news network on the research conducted by the LHCb experiment. Prof Mārcis Auziņš wrote an article about antimatter as part of his science column for the public Latvian media. Other general articles about antimatter were also published last week.

Other mentions include the Science Gateway, Egypt’s minister of education seeking to forge closer bond with CERN, CERN alumni Carlos Díaz and Pablo Martínez launching a new project about Cosmic Rays in Spain, and a new agreement being signed between CERN and the University of Rio de Janeiro.

We wish you a very nice week!

Kind regards,

The Press Team
