We are thrilled to announce a captivating panel discussion as part of the Third Collisions event, focusing on career development and networking.
The dialogue will explore topics such as effectively positioning oneself on the job market, recognising transferable skills and navigating the uncertainties in changing career paths. Moreover, the discussion will emphasise the importance of networking for career growth and leveraging the valuable resources within an alumni network.
Meet the Panelists:
Andrea Regina Biedermann - Andrea, a scientist with additional credentials in coaching and higher education, has been leading the PSI Career Center since September 2022. Armed with a geophysics background from ETH Zurich, Andrea brings over a decade of experience in international research projects and teaching to the table. She has been instrumental in guiding students through various academic levels, engaging in numerous discussions about their future trajectories. Andrea's passion lies in unravelling the intricacies of career choices and counselling processes, offering valuable support to students and postdocs facing career-related queries.
Androula Alekou - Androula, a CERN alumna with a Ph.D. in Particle Physics from Imperial College London, accumulated eight years of research experience at Oxford University and CERN. In a bold career move in 2020, she transitioned from the world of Physics to the corporate realm of one of the world's fast-moving consumer goods companies, Procter & Gamble, where she works as a Senior Data Analyst. Beyond her corporate endeavours, Androula is a 3-Dan martial arts instructor, dedicating over a decade to teaching and empowering individuals physically and mentally.
Maria Gallo - Maria, with over 20 years of experience in higher education leadership, has made significant contributions as an alumni relations professional, strategic manager, and scholar. She has served prestigious institutions such as the University of Toronto, University College Dublin, and the National University of Ireland, Galway. Currently a Visiting Research Fellow at Trinity Business School, Trinity College Dublin, Maria's extensive academic portfolio includes research on alumni relations and philanthropy, earning her the HS Warwick Distinguished Research Publication Award from CASE. Maria is also the founder and principal researcher of KITE – Keep in Touch Education, an alumni research company with a global footprint.
