Alexandra Martin Sanchez: Bridging physics and industry

Originally from Spain, Alexandra's academic journey took her from the University of Salamanca to a Ph.D. at the Laboratoire de l’Accélérateur Linéaire in Orsay. Attendees at the event will have the privilege of hearing Alexandra's story, from her days at CERN researching CP violation studies to her current role as the Team Manager for "Wind Turbines, Motors and Alternators" at EDF R&D. Her insights promise to highlight the practical applications of physics in the realm of sustainable energy.

Mait Müntel: From theoretical physics to entrepreneurship

Coming from Estonia, Mait completed his Ph.D. in Theoretical Physics at the University of Tartu before making significant contributions to the CMS experiments at CERN. Alumni attending the event will have the opportunity to hear Mait's experiences in co-founding Fermi Energy, a start-up aiming to introduce Small Modular Reactors for a sustainable energy future. His story is sure to resonate with alumni returning to CERN for this special event.
