CERN in the media from 21/9/2020 to 27/9/2020

Oct 02, 2020

Dear all,

Please find below the media monitoring report from 21 to 27 September. These press cuttings have been selected amongst 665 articles identified by our media monitoring system.

The CERN Environment Report and the CERN-CHUV collaboration for a new radiotherapy facility, for which the Press Office had organised Q&A events are still being discussed in local news sites. The news on CERN technology being used to uncover a Raphael painting has also been featured in Le Temps and Heidi News among others (attaching .pdfs also since they are behind a paywall). The CERN-CHUV media update was also covered by the US-based Health Care Business website and local outlets like La Voix de L’Ain.

Other CERN and physics related news published during this period included Brookhaven’s plan to build an electron-ion collider, EU presenting EBAMed with 2.4 million euros to develop a CERN technology for medical application, TRIUMF’s contribution to the LHC upgrades, an interview with James Purvis, Slovakia’s intention to pay for membership to international organisations, and how ATTRACT illustrates the importance of investment in fundamental research.

We wish you a good day!

Kind regards,

The CERN Alumni Relations and Press Team
