CERN in the media from 2/11/2020 to 8/11/2020

Nov 11, 2020

Dear all,

Please find below the media monitoring report from 2-8 November 2020. These press cuttings have been selected amongst 734 articles identified by our media monitoring system.

Ursula Bassler was quoted in an article about the Falling Walls conference. Former CERN DG Rolf Heuer’s views on science and politics was published in Science Business.

The media update about the open call for Collide residency award is still being picked up by European, mostly Spanish outlets. CERN’s free quantum computing classes is getting wide coverage, majority of them in IT-specialised outlets. The CMS result showing evidence of top quarks in collisions between nuclei was also published in online news channels. BASE experiment’s plan to transport of antimatter, and LHCb’s result on the disintegration of the charged B-meson was also published in a few platforms.

News about Moroccan Foundation for Advanced Science, Innovation and Research joining the ATLAS collaboration and Jordan’s Princess Sumaya University for Technology and the Royal Scientific Society joining the CMS collaboration was published by some newspapers.

We wish you a good day!

Kind regards,
The CERN Alumni Relations and Press Team
