  1. What does winning the CERN Alumni directorate award mean to you?

"I had the great honor to be nominated by the CERN Directors for the award of Remarkable Career Trajectory from physics to medical/Entrepreneurial fields. It is not only an award for me personally, but also a great recognition from CERN to what we are doing at Terapet SA."

  1. How did your CERN experience contribute to your subsequent career, if at all?

"I came to CERN as summer student in 2007, then I did my PhD for 3 years, after that I was fellow for another 3 years before I got Staff position for 5 years in the same group, TE-VSC group (Technology Department – Vacuum, Surface and Coating group). I spent most of my professional life at CERN. It is a great place for career development and building soft and hard skills, but I also made friends for life."

  1. Where do you see the value in being an active member of the CERN Alumni Network?

"The CERN Alumni Network is a great initiative and an important platform for alumni stay connected with CERN after leaving CERN. The team of Rachel’s is doing a fantastic work to engage CERN alumni in a unique network. In our case, the CERN Alumni Network offers a great talent pool, where we found an outstanding electrical engineer to join us. For future recruitment, we'll definitely scout the CERN alumni network."
