CERN Alumni Awardees 2021 - Caroline Boudou

Published on March 8, 2023

1)      What does winning the CERN Alumni award mean to you?
"First, I was very surprised to be nominated ! This award means that I am kind of an active co-builder of network, my main activity  consisted in posting job adverts.  The trophy itself is beautiful and impressed my kids when I told them it is made from high-temperature superconductor strips embedded in a resin. Thanks again !"

2)      How did your CERN experience contribute to your subsequent career, if at all?
"I was particularly touched by the commitment of the scientists and engineers at CERN, both to their research projects and to the transmission of knowledge. I had spent five months at DESY before my stay at CERN as a summer student in 2001, when I decided  to continue my studies until the doctorate. I loved CERN’s international atmosphere and have been working in multinational environments since then."

3)      Where do you see the value in being an active member of the CERN Alumni Network?
"The main interest is to be able to –very humbly- help someone in her/his job search or career questioning. And maybe someone from the network could help me one day as well!
Reading about the path of some of the CERN alumni is also very inspiring and may be useful  in my current job at the Institut Laue-Langevin where networking is key."

4)      Is there anything else you’d like to add?

"The CERN Alumni team is doing a great job in making the network alive !"
