CERN in the media from 31/10/2022 to 06/11/2022

Published on November 9, 2022

Dear all,

Please find below the media monitoring report from 31 October to 6 November 2022. These press cuttings have been selected amongst 580 articles identified by our media monitoring system.

The media visit focused on medical applications organized by the press office on the 17 October in the context of the World Cancer Congress 2022 is still generating articles. The energy-saving measures being taken by CERN are still being covered by various outlets. Finally, the carbon footprint of future Higgs factories keeps being mentioned by various outlets.

Toyoko Orimoto wrote an article about the Higgs Boson in New Scientist in the frame of the Lost in Space-Time newsletter. Anna Soter was interviewed by Blick to talk about women in STEM.

Other mentions this week include María José Costa being appointed Collaboration Board Chair for the ATLAS experiment, François Englert celebrating his 90th birthday, CERN being one of UNESCO’s greatest accomplishments, a presentation by Julia Hellström about the Technical Student Programme made at at the Ångström Laboratory at Uppsala University, Irlande’s refusal to join CERN despite the advantages that it would bring to Irish physicists, and general articles about the Higgs boson.

We wish you a very nice week!

Kind regards,

The Press Team
