CERN in the media - From 24 September to 30 September 2018

Oct 08, 2018

These press cuttings have been selected amongst all articles identified by our colleagues from the Press Office.

The topics covered most broadly were the LHCb result on the discovery of two baryons with the possibility of a third new particle (picked up from the CERN homepage Updates) and the first particle tracks recorded by the protoDUNE detector (based on the Fermi-CERN Press Release). There were also a number of mentions in Japanese and Chinese media during this particular week, usually in regards to dark matter, the Higgs and the ILC. Researchers' Night and the inauguration of the Esplanade des Particules were covered by local media. European media and aggregated news platforms reported the announcement of Dr Bassler as the new elected President of the CERN Council.

Enjoy the reading!
