COMMUNITY — FOURTH COLLISIONS

Planning for the next Fourth Collisions CERN alumni reunion is already underway — and the organising committee would like to have your input. Help shape the event by sharing what would make you want to attend, reconnect, and participate.

We are also launching a call for submissions. Do you know a speaker who would inspire the community, or would you like to propose a talk yourself? Let us know through the form below: https://alumni.cern/surveys/forms/7659

CAREERS

From CERN to Industry — Andrea Dotti (PIX4D) - Moving from CERN to industry is a path many alumni have taken, but it is rarely straightforward. How do you translate research experience into language recruiters understand? What should stay — or go — on your CV? And how do you prepare for interviews where no one has heard of ROOT or GEANT4? In the latest article of the What Worked for Me series, Andrea Dotti, Head of R&D at PIX4D, shares practical advice drawn from his own transition experiencehttps://alumni.cern/news/13238697

Do you also have career advice you’d like to share with fellow alumni? Contribute here: https://alumni.web.cern.ch/form/what-worked-for-me-cern-alumni-c

Following the publication of the FCC feasibility study, CERN has expanded its dialogue and information activities with local communities in Switzerland and France where the project could potentially be established. Public participation processes are now officially underway in both countries ahead of any future investment decision by the CERN Council: https://home.cern/le-processus-de-participation-citoyenne-sur-le-futur-collisionneur-circulaire-fcc-debute-en-suisse-et-en-france/

  • In Switzerland, consultations run from 18 May to 2 October 2026.
  • In France, the public debate takes place from 2 June to 1 October 2026.
