Last week’s coverage opened with several articles reflecting on the legacy of Belgian physicist François Englert, co-recipient of the 2013 Nobel Prize in Physics for the theoretical work that led to the discovery of the Higgs boson. International media revisited his longstanding connection with CERN and the significance of the Higgs discovery for modern particle physics.
QuiFinanza published an interview with Enrica Porcari, highlighting the role of digital transformation, data management and emerging technologies in supporting the Organisation’s scientific mission.
Media attention continued to focus on the Future Circular Collider and the public consultation process surrounding the project. Coverage included an article in Physics Today examining the prospects of the Future Circular Collider (FCC) and featuring comments from Ursula Bassler.
Additional mentions included the recognition for CERN Science Gateway, following its recent success at the European Museum of the Year Awards, and an interview with former Director-General Fabiola Gianotti in the Italian newspaper Il Messaggero, in which she reflected on the discovery of the Higgs boson and its scientific legacy.
