COMMUNITY

WORLD CERN ALUMNI DAY — CELEBRATING 9 YEARS OF THE CERN ALUMNI NETWORK
Join us on 22 June for a special virtual Alumni Day event celebrating nine years of the CERN Alumni Network. This year, we will take you behind the scenes of the SMI2 magnet assembly hall, where magnets for the High-Luminosity LHC are assembled before testing and validation in SM18. The event will feature interviews with the HiLumi LHC Project Leader, alumni who contributed to the project and have since built remarkable careers beyond CERN, and a representative from CERN's Talent Acquisition team who will discuss opportunities at CERN and how to apply: https://www.linkedin.com/events/7472311580949504000/?viewAsMember=true

FROM HiLumi TO ALUMNI — CALL FOR PARTICIPANTS
Did you work on the HiLumi LHC project? We are launching a new spotlight series, "From HiLumi to Alumni", highlighting the people behind one of CERN's most ambitious upgrade programmes and the careers they pursued afterwards. If you would like to share your story, contact us at [email protected]

TIMEPIX@SCHOOL — CALL FOR PROPOSALS OPEN UNTIL 30 JUNE
TIMEPIX@school is a new CERN-led initiative that will bring detector technology developed at CERN into classrooms around the world. Using Timepix-based detectors, students will be able to visualise and analyse radiation in real time, gaining hands-on experience with technology used in particle physics, medicine, aerospace and art. The programme launches in the 2026–2027 academic year and aims to reach approximately 20,000 students by 2030. Learn more and submit your proposal before 30 June: https://alumni.cern/news/13286867

GROUPS

FINAL COLLISIONS, NEW HORIZONS
After 12 years of operation, record-breaking amounts of data and thousands of scientific results, the LHC has completed its final physics run before entering a major transformation phase. The accelerator will now be upgraded into the High-Luminosity LHC, paving the way for an even more ambitious scientific programme in the years ahead: https://home.cern/final-collisions-new-horizons/

ARTS AT CERN ANNOUNCES THE 2026 CONNECT INDIA ARTISTS
Arts at CERN and Pro Helvetia have announced the artists selected for the 2026 Connect India residency. Swiss-based artist Marie Matusz and Indian artist Moonis Ahmad Shah will take part in the latest edition of the programme, which fosters dialogue between art, science and technology across cultures: https://home.cern/arts-at-cern-and-pro-helvetia-announce-the-artists-selected-for-the-2026-connect-india-residency/
