Dear friends of WiT,
Yet another happening week at CERN. As the week draws to a close, we bring to a selection of links to go through this weekend:
From Around the World
Have you been following the Euro Cup? Check out the list of finalists who are all set to play next month in Switzerland:
"They would ask, 'How can we trust a house built by a woman? How can I trust my money and property with a young female engineer?'" Two young female engineers have been overseeing the construction of a 10-floor apartment complex in Taleh in the city's Hodan District. This is their journey: https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/cj427dy11j0o
In London, a women-only tower block is all set to open soon. The tower is meant for survivors of domestic abuse struggling to find a home: https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/cwyjyyy2r5eo
The Rubin Observatory's first images will be unveiled on the 23rd of June, Monday. Tune in or join a watch party near you (the closest one to CERN is in Servette, Geneva): https://rubinobservatory.org/news/rubin-first-look/rubin-party
Fun Fact: The observatory was renamed from Large Synoptic Survey Telescope to Vera C. Rubin Observatory to honour Vera C. Rubin's legacy to probe the nature of dark matter.
