CERN in the media from 15 to 21 September 2025

Published on September 24, 2025

Dear all,

Please find below the media monitoring report for the period 15-21 September. These press cuttings have been selected from the 1652 results identified by our monitoring system.

The ALICE results on the conversion of lead into gold attracted significant attention, while all four main LHC experiments — ALICE, ATLAS, CMS and LHCb — were highlighted for their work on shape-shifting collisions. Coverage also extended to a result of CMS on long-lived particles from February 2025, and interest remained strong in the quantum bit story from the BASE collaboration.

Likewise, the launch of the new season of “Génération Higgs” was well covered, and additional visibility came through two news pieces following media visits to CERN by the Greek Star Media and Chinese CCTV4.

Finally, the publication of a new book by Tim Berners-Lee continues to generate a notable number of mentions of CERN in the media.

Wishing you all a great week,

The Press team
