Higgs@10 - Alumni Memories with Eleni Ntomari
CERN Alumni: Eleni Ntomari
Today: Science Teacher in a High School in Athens, Greece.
What memories do you have from the 4 July 2012 announcement of the discovery of the Higgs boson?
"I remember that we woke up around 5 in the morning in order to be able to have a seat in the main auditorium where the announcement took place. With my colleaugue we were one of the last people that managed to get in so we were extremely happy and excited!!"

What is your best memory of working at CERN?
"Working with people from all over the world in one of the biggest research centers of the world! "

What skills did you develop during your CERN work experience which have been particularly useful in your subsequent career trajectory?
"I managed to have a wider view of Science and Physics in particular, and see how it can be applied. I realised that experimental physics doesn't only mean Physics as theory, but also work in the lab for hardware development as well as development of computational and programming skills. These skills are very useful in my school lab and especially in the Physics Club that we have. However the most important of all is all the memories and enthousiasm that I share with my students and feel how it inspires them."
