CERN in the media from 10/10/2022 to 16/10/2022

Published on October 18, 2022

Dear all,

Please find below the media monitoring report from 10 to 16 October 2022. These press cuttings have been selected amongst 1105 articles identified by our media monitoring system.

Fabiola Gianotti was mentioned in articles about the new IEO proton center that will open in Milan in 2023, as she remotely participated in the conference during which the opening was announced. The DG also participated in GESDA last week. She was part of the Press Conference where the creation of a new Open Quantum Institute in Geneva was announced, and she did an interview with the RTS.

CERN’s energy-saving measures keep being widely covered, including by Nature magazine, which did an interview of Joachim Mnich.

Chris Llewellyn Smith, former CERN DG, wrote an article about CERN and SESAME in Science and Diplomacy, the online publication of the AAAS center for science and diplomacy.

Other mentions include the Big Science Business Forum in which CERN participated, an article about a US teacher who participated in a CERN teacher programme, a new successful result for FUSCLEAN (a project of the ATTRACT programme), an article on the diplomatic relations between CERN and Bosnia-Herzegovina and an article about the new Agreement on Reforming Research Assessment .

We wish you a very nice week!

Kind regards,

The Press Team
