Hello everyone,

This week we had the Ada Lovelace Day. She is widely known as the first person to recognize the potential of early computers and published what is known as an algorithm.

Before most others, Lovelace recognized that computers could do more than simple number-crunching, opening the door to complex functions and ushering in the modern era of computing.

Ada Lovelace Day aims to promote STEM education and honour the teachers, researchers, technicians, advocates, and others who champion the importance of science and math.

Deloitte Global estimate large global technology firms will reach nearly 33% overall female representation in their workforces in 2022 on average - with 25% occupying technical roles.

Note that at CERN today we have ˜21% female representation with ˜10% occupying STEM roles.

The 25by25 program aims at boosting these numbers -in particular in STEM roles that represent CERN's core-, which requires commitment at all levels.
