Meet our April 2026 CAN-doers of the Month (04/2026)

Published on April 9, 2026

What is it about?

It’s been one year since the CERN Alumni Engagement Programme was launched to recognise the many ways alumni contribute to the network. From mentoring and volunteering to attending events or simply keeping profiles up to date, these actions help keep the community active and useful for everyone.

Over the past year, the programme has steadily grown:

  • 6,061 badges awarded (as of December 2025)
  • 4,315 alumni recognised as CAN-doers
  • 16 badges available across three engagement categories
  • 4,369 volunteer hours recorded in 2025

These numbers reflect the time and effort alumni continue to invest in staying connected and supporting one another.

Discover the badge system.

Each contribution, big or small, is recognised through digital badges displayed on alumni profiles. There are up to 16 badges to collect, and each one celebrates your unique contribution to our global community.

Alongside this, every month we highlight three CAN-doers, selected across the three engagement categories: Volunteering, Communication and Experiential.
